Hello everyone~
I have just deleted all of my previous posts; I would like to start fresh with this blog. I wasn't posting enough art before, so I thought I should start again.
I am a fourteen year old girl with a passion for manga and art. Manga is a style of graphic novels in Japan. They are read by everyone, as there are mangas for kids and adults. I love manga, and although I don't write it myself, I draw in the manga style.
When I first started drawing manga, about three years ago now, I had found it on an art tutorial website (www.dragoart.com). I was drawn to the pretty pictures on there, and now I am obsessed with manga! At first I drew the sterotypical manga, with big eyes, little mouths, etc. However, now I have made the style more of my own. I like to call it semi-realistic manga.
I am on a wonderful online manga community called PaigeeWorld. If you enjoy drawing manga, or would like to learn, I suggest joining! I also post on DeviantArt (I'm truthisunlucky on DA, and truth13 on PW). I don't know many people who draw, so PaigeeWorld is where I can talk with others who enjoy drawing as much as I do.
I don't only draw manga though! I have been trying to do some art journaling, which is really fun. I have some books by Danny Gregory which I worship. I am considering learning to draw realistically too.
I use copic markers, watercolours, coloured pencils, and anything else I find lying around. I love copic markers the most though. They are so smooth and easy to use. Expensive, but worth the money.
Drawing is like meditation for me. I can relax completely, just feeling the motion of the pen, watching the colour and ink create pictures from my mind. I can forget my problems. I love it!
When I draw, I like to drink tea, usually slightly cool. I don't drink tea or eat when colouring my pictures though. I worry about getting paint in it. I also like listening to slow music. Slow music seems to flow with my pen better.
I will post some of my art soon. But for today, I am going to just leave it at an introduction.
Enjoy your day~
